Hey friends!
I hope this update finds you enjoying your Monday! The team had a fantastic day today - much was accomplished! Garrett and Toby got an early start with Pastor Sammy, working on the property and getting everything ready for the work that will occur this week. The girls had a special devotion time, then continued on to base camp. The team was able to accomplish some task at base camp, including setting up a gutter system on David's house (he and his wife live on and manage our property) so that rain water can be harvested for the garden. The girls also had some fun on a new rope swing on the property while dreaming and planning for some of the projects planned for Tuesday, like building a gate and fence! Plans for Tuesday also include a visit to the 'baby house' down the road from base camp - pray for divine connection with our neighbors! Deanna will also be accomplishing other administrative tasks on Tuesday.
Today was also filled with praying and walking over the property, helping David's wife Margaret pull leaves and prepare for dinner, and chasing chickens! The Kenyan life is grand - love it :)
Pray that they building and construction projects will continue smoothly and that there won't be delays. The Kenyan attitude is very laid back, which often seems opposite to our American mindset, which seems to prefer being busy! However, it is important for the building team to accomplish as much as possible in the short time they are in the country, so pray that they will accomplish their goals without delay. Continue to pray for safety and protection for the team, and pray for divine encounters with those who need to encounter the Lord! Pray that Deanna's administrative tasks are accomplished smoothly, and that the Lord would work in spite of cultural or communication barriers; pray for fairness in all administrative dealings - often being a 'mzungu' (white person) makes this difficult!
An additional prayer request today - Deanna's husband, Dan, has eye surgery scheduled for Tuesday this week, so pray for healing and a speady recovery!
And as always, pray as you are led :) Be blessed, friends!!

...loving the informational posts. What a fun visual to imagine the girls swinging and laughing as they play at BC. It sets the tone for years of children to come!! Love, Granna |
