From the Field 2.25.10

Hey friends!

I heard from Deanna last night, and the team is having a wonderful trip!  The team is in Webuye, and they are spending a day of ministry with the Miracle House kids!  They have had a full week so far.  At base camp, Garrett and Toby built a foundation for a 40 foot storage container that was delivered this week.  We will be using that at Base Camp for storage in this development process.  I'm trying to imagine how the 40 foot container was gotten on to the property... you have to imagine a narrow dirt road with a sharp turn onto our land.  Deanna said it was an adventure!  We also now have a Massai guard at Base Camp!  For those of you who aren't familiar with the Massai, it is a tribe in Kenya that is known for being strong warriors.  To become a warrior in the Massai tribe, the young men have to kill a lion with their bare hands and a club!  In Kenya, Massai warriors are often used as securtiy guards - so we now have a Massai warrior staying on our land to assist with security!

Garrett and Toby have designed a fence that will be installed this week by a welder, and our gate has been primed and will be hung this week!  Our water tank has been delivered, so that will be washed out and filled with clean water.  A plumbing system will also have to be designed, so the boys will be working on that as well.

Thanks for prayers!! Continue to pray over the building and development process and the ministry in Webuye and on Mount Elgon!  Also pray for our communication - it seems that Deanna and I aren't receiving each other's texts, so pray that will be resolved!

Have a blessed day!  Arienne :)
