Deanna sent a text this morning...the eMi team has taped a copy of the master plan to the wall (what they have so far) the excitement is building as they get closer and closer to the final presentation. The architects are coloring the pictures and pulling the pieces together to put the final touches on the presentation they will give the team this weekend.

The eMi team went to visit the baby house today while Deanna and Pastor Sammy did more research on schools and mission trip housing.

Dan and Andy have completed the guard/caretaker home! David is very happy and so excited!!

Eve, Pastor Sammy's wife has come to visit and spend time with her sister who had lost her baby yesterday.

The team will get to enjoy a morning off for safari tomorrow. (Pray for lots and lots of animals...the creators creations!)

Prayer Points:
> Please continue to pray for resolution with the theft situation
> Continue to pray over the family and over Pastor Sammy's sister-in-law
> Pray for the final couple of days as the eMi team pulls together the final presentation pieces...
> The eMi team will be preparing to leave this weekend, please pray blessings and thanksgiving over them for their voluteered time and for their faithfulness to the vision the Lord has given them to help other ministries.
> Pray for Deanna, Dan and Andy as they begin to wrap up and spend their final days in country and all that still needs to be accomplished.

Blessings to you our faithful friend for your support, prayers and faithfulness!

From the Field 09.10.09

Hello again! The team had another busy day today as they work hard to bring things to a close this weekend.

Deanna was able to visit a baby house near Base Camp. Dan and Andy have nearly wrapped up the small home for David...just a few finishing touches tomorrow. They have also been able to put up the walls and floor for the existing pit toilet (that had up til today been just a pit). David is growing onions and tomatoes and is anxiously awaiting his marriage coming later this fall.

Pastor Sammy's sister-in-law gave birth to a baby today, but they lost it shortly after due to fetal stress.

We don't have any updates regarding the theft or the equipment lost. Please continue to pray over that situation and for peace for the team.

Prayer Points:
> Pray for these last few days that the time the team is together is productive and focused on the Lord
> Pray for Pastor Sammy's family as they deal with the tragedy of the loss of such a very young life.
>Lift up Sammy's sister-in-law for healing and strength. Pray that she will be comforted by the Comforter and will be able to feel His love surround her in this very difficult time.

Thank you again and again for your blessings and prayers.

~Samantha

From the Field 09.09.09 ~ The Gathering!

Good Morning!! I hope your day is blessed and that you see through the eyes of the Lord today!

I have a quick update for you this morning. Even in the midst of all that was happening today, the children were still able to come for their visit and enjoy the day together as a family with Mum Deanna!!

Deanna said that the children made it to the property safely and where able to run and play with each other for a few hours. Several children from each location traveled with some of the staff via matatus. They were all introduced and had some great play time with each other, Mum Deanna and the team. She showed them around and described some of the plans and ideas the team had for the land and heard their thoughts/dreams. They walked the property and prayed over it with her. Deanna said that it was a wonderful day to spend with them out there.

She asked a few of the older girls from Webuye if they had made any new friends today and was told "YES!" It was exciting to have had this time for them to interact with one another.

Dan and Andy have almost finished the small home for David (our caretaker). They will hopefully be finishing it up tomorrow so that he can stay there. David told Dan that this home will be a place that his bride will be happy to stay in!

The eMi team continues to survey and plan and dream with Deanna. There is still a lot of work to be done, but they are seeing the results of the time so far. She is getting excited for the final presentation!

Bless you, friend and we pray for you and your week. We are very thankful that you are a part of this ministry and care for these beautiful children!

~Samantha

From the Field 09.09.09 ~ PRAYER NEEDED!!!

Hello and good morning friends! This is a special posting to ask you for your prayers over our team!

Earlier today three of the hotel rooms were broken into while the team was together in another part of the building having breakfast. The rooms were only empty for about 20 minutes, yet the theives were able to get away with several items, included some of the laptops. No one was hurt or threatened!   They waited for the rooms to be vacated.

The team is fine, a little frustrated but OK. They were able to go ahead with most of the plans for the day even with though the day started off with this. (only one team member needed to stay back to work with the police & hotel staff).

Prayer Points:
>Pray for the recovery of the computers.
>Pray for conviction of the people who perpetrated this crime.
>THANK the Lord that no one was in danger or hurt, including the hotel staff.
>Pray for solid, honest police work.
>Pray for continued protection over the team since they still have several days left there in town.
>Pray against distractions and detours that this type of situation causes! That the team's focus can and will remain strong on the Lord and that they are able to accomplish all that He had planned for them!!

Thank you friend, for your prayers.

~Samantha

From the Field 09.07.09

Good afternoon! Hopefully your holiday weekend has been enjoyable and relaxing!

There is a lot in this update, so hang in there! I spoke with Deanna last evening and then again just a while ago. The last couple of days have been filled with much activity and blessings.

First, I can fill you in a little more about their time in Limuru at Miracle House. Their time was good but brief. School was back in session today so the time they had with the children on Saturday was quick since they had to finish preparing for today. (This time would be used for shaving heads and having hair braided, clothes laundered...etc.)

Deanna explained to the children why she was there and the purposed of her visit to Kenya. Of course, the children began asking her questions about visiting the property. Deanna asked them how they would get to the property to have this visit. The answers varied from bus...to matatus. She asked them what would happen if only a few of them could go. One boy answered, "NO! We all go or not at all!" Another boy said, "If some go, when they return they will find the rest crying." As difficult as this may all seem, there is the possibility of bringing the children to visit the property in Nakuru, but because of cost and space only a few will be able to go. The others will have opportunities in the future to visit. Deanna explained this to them and tried to help them understand that they couldn’t all go this time. Please be praying that this does become a reality for children from both locations to be able to visit Nakuru with the team. It would be a great blessing to have the children walk the property and pray over it with Mum Deanna!!

The team then had to depart Limuru to meet the others in Nakuru where they gathered for team orientation and sharing time. Sunday morning they were able to go to church in Nakuru at Pastor Lawrence’s church where Deanna was given the opportunity to speak and introduce the team.  After church they ventured out to the property where Deanna shared the vision of Miracle House with the team. It became a great time of questions, dreaming and sharing. The eMi team jumped in with lots of questions regarding the logistical pieces such as the engineering, layout, etc. One of the eMi team members, Roger, helped with some agricultural processing. He discussed different ideas with Deanna about what crops would be suitable for the area and the property.

I asked Deanna if she was glad she went on this trip to meet with eMi. She said “YES!” She is very glad to be there. The eMi team is asking questions no one else could have answered or even known how Deanna would have answered because their questions are about things she hadn’t thought of yet. She said it is exciting and so helpful to go through the process with the team! She is so very thankful to be there now. Pray for continued heart connections during this time with the team, this divine connection has been a tremdous blessing to the ministry.

Today the team had many items to accomplish including errands to gather pricing in town, meeting with the representative from Life Water and to continue with the planning processes. The meeting with the Life Water rep went well with lots of new information. Unfortunately, they will not be able to help us with the borehole, their equipment is not adequate for our needs there. This is a VERY important piece, having a good well is critical for the well being of the children. Deanna is working to meet with other groups to help with drilling a borehole while they are there.

The team is tired from a long day, but joyful because things are progressing. Tomorrow they will be continuing their work. Everyone has tasks assigned to them and they are planning a very full day.

 Prayer Points:
> Peace and understanding for the children as some will be allowed to visit Nakuru and the others will have to remain.
> Safety as the children are escorted to Nakuru from Webuye and Limuru.
> Pray for a connection for water drilling!! This is a very, very important piece that our future planning will hinge on. Pray for Deanna in this time to find the right group, for peace, wisdom and discernment.
> PRAY FOR RAIN!! We are quickly coming to the end of the rainy season, but this year it has been a season of drought. Pastor Sammy referred to this year being the driest year since 1980. Naturally, this will affect food and water supplies for the country, which in turn could create supply issues for our staff and children. Thank you Lord, for being our provider, we TRUST You with this desparate situation for Kenya and Your children.
> Pray for wisdom, God size
creativity and dreams as the team plans and prepares for our future home.

Whew! You made it to the end! Thank you, thank you! You are such a wonderful blessing to the ministry and we are so thankful for your support and your prayers!

Have a wonderful and blessed week.

~Samantha

From the Field 09.06.09

Greetings dear ones! I have a quick update from Deanna.

Yesterday was the big Question and Answer time for the girls and boys in Webuye. Before they broke up into separate groups they had a time to ask Mum Deanna some questions. It was a great sharing time with the kids and Deanna had an opportunity to share some history of the ministry that many had not heard until then.

After lunch they broke into their groups and had a wonderful interactive afternoon with the children. The girls had many questions for Mum Deanna such as, "Where you honest as a girl?"; "Can we really hear the voice of God?"; "How do you know what you are good at / what your talents are?" and so many more.

Deanna was tired but energized to be with the children and hear their hearts. It was a great day and one of growth. Please continue to pray over these precious children and their openness to explore what the Lord has for them in the future.

Deanna and Andy left this morning for Nairobi to meet part of the eMi team and were able to stop off for a quick visit in Limuru to see the kids for a few hours before heading off to Nakuru to meet up with the other half of the team. The kids are doing well and send their love. It was good to see them all again.

Again, thank you for being a part of this special prayer team! You are a treasure and a blessing!

Bless you and enjoy your holiday weekend!

~Samantha

From the Field 9.3.09

Deanna, Dan, Andy and Pastor Sammy had a Good flight to Webuye today. They arrived at MHW and had a great time with children. It took the kids a few minutes to warm up, but when they did they very excited to have the team there! They really embraced and love Andy...he is doing very well with them. They liked having Mum Deanna back with them --  A blessing indeed!!

The team will be able to meet Cathrine's baby girl for the first time tomorrow. She was born at the very end of our time there in June. Cathrine is our newest teacher in Webuye. She has a tender heart for the children and loves being a part of Miracle House.

It's been a long day and the team is getting ready for bed early tonight!! They are running on empty, with very little sleep in the past 48hrs. Please be praying for good rest and continued health for the three of them! And continue to pray for Pastor Sammy's health; he is just recovering from a fever and overall not feeling well. The team will be at Miracle House all day tomorrow. The eMi team joins them on Saturday!

Prayer Points:
>One of the boys was bitten by a dog and is undergoing rabies treatments...very expensive (close to $30 per treatment!)
>Tomorrow will be a Mom/Daughter - Father/Son talk day. The older children are writing out questions for their time in the morning with the team. Mum Deanna will be talking with the girls and Pastor Sammy, Dan and Andy will be fielding the questions with the boys. Please pray for openness and honesty from the kids and good connection times with Deanna, Dan and Andy.
> Rest and health for the entire team!!

>Safe travel and good connections with the eMi team on Saturday
Blessings to you and thank you for your prayers and your investment in the ministry and the lives of our precious children.
