** property progress update – Miracle House Base Camp – praying and pressing forward!!

Early 09 Prayer and anointing land Finalize purchase 10 beautiful acres of land outside Nakuru – safe area – rich soil, farmland

June/July 09 Prayer and worship teams – dreaming/asking/seeking/knocking

Sept 09 eMi – survey/plans/drawings for future development – big picture design in phases built a small house for caretaker (& new bride)

Feb. 2010 40 foot shipping container purchased and placed water storage container purchased and placed fencing and heavy metal entry gate installed stone placed for gutter at drive entry additional housing- created by knocking a door and window in an existing concrete water tank that we won't use for water - then placing a metal door and window for security! hired a Maasai for security to guard our land Met with a potential builder – awaiting estimate :-D

Praise the Lord! We are getting some of the preliminary necessities in place and planning and preparing for the next steps!

Letters/notes for our Miracle House children

Dear friends

We have received a few letters/notes from sponsors but would love to take many many more!! This is a reminder to sponsors and an invitation to all others to write a little note of encouragementt to the children or staff of Miracle House in Kenya! If you would like to include a photo that is wonderfful!! Please email to- Childsponsorship@miracle-house.org we need to receive them asap - deadline Feb 9 - one week from today!! They will be hand delivered later this month! Thank you - thank you! Your prayers and encouragements are aa huge blessing to all!

Miracle House has a heart for Haiti!

Friends,

 

Hearts are turned toward Haiti...

 

This thrills my heart that so many have their eyes on Haiti right now!  As many of you may know my own daughters are Haitian.  We have extended family members in Haiti as well.

 

Several people have contacted me this week…

Some because we are the first or only people that come to mind when “Haiti” hits the news,

Some simply because we are the only people they may know with Haiti connection,

Some because they are asking if we still have any connections there,

Some because they are asking if we know any good ways to “give” knowing funds will get to the people in need,

Some asking how to pray…

Whatever the reason – Thank you, thank you for your kind concern and interest!!

 

Here is the history for those of you who desire to get caught up with the experiences of my life –

I spent time in Haiti/DR summer of 1999 on a mission trip with Teen Mania 

I returned to Haiti November of 2000 to receive our adopted daughters-the end to a four-year journey and beginning of another!

Can’t imagine our lives without our girls, now 9+ years later!!  They are thriving Haitian Americans living in a snowy mountain environment enjoying gymnastics, dance, piano, snowboarding, many creative activities, school, friends, and life!!

 

Here are my thoughts and responses…

 

Pray!!! – I’m praying

for the Kingdom of Heaven to come on earth, in Haiti!

Christians will pray like never before, for miracles, for things they haven’t yet seen!

For springs to come up providing fresh water!

For manna, miracle sources of food!

For Peace!

For a way out of the city for those who have families on farms etc!

For relief efforts and workers!

For visas and safe passage for children in the adoption process!

Health, safety, peace, stamina, wisdom, discernment especially those in leadership!

The same for those traveling to Haiti to help!

People understand this will be a re-building process that was needed before the quake and will take time and effort for months/years to come!

Finally, that we don’t stop praying!!!!

 

Give!!! – Here are two opportunities!

We are concerned for all but focusing our efforts in two directions. 

We do have extended family in Haiti – house fell – living on street and searching for basic needs – several family members including a grandmom needing medical care even before the quake - long term financial rebuilding need

Also

Organization through which we adopted our girls is working to get waiting children to adoptive families asap –

 

Miracle House has established a 90 day window for you to give through Miracle House to either of these needs – please designate!

We are thankful for all efforts – my girls are sharing with their school… thanks for giving back in whatever way you choose!

Update -
I want to point out that when you open the email blog prompt – the first page includes some basic info about the blog entry – it references the “category” – this will allow you to know if it is a –

prayer request “focus for the fervent”,
a posting of the newsletter “newsletter”
a new story “let the stories be recorded”
a special greeting “Greetings!”
an update from the field “mission trip update”
a general update "update"

I’m going to be adding a category –
“deanna’s thoughts” this will be everything from ramblings to revelations :o)

Noting the “category” will allow you to choose to open a prayer request for a quick prayer in a busy time or wait until later to open a newsletter at your convenience!  Time is valuable to all of us - I want to value yours!

Summit Daily News- January 27, 2008

I just wanted to let you know Lory Pounder from the Summit Daily has written a nice follow up article to the one she wrote last February 07. Check it out online if you don't live locally! We will have a link on our home page soon ;-) FYI - It made the front page - the whole front page! and page four and five too! four pictures, and a special feature "Miracle for Margaret"!

God has again made a way! May His purposes be forwarded! Glory to God great things he has done!!

future trips

I know there are several of you who want to visit Miracle House and experience an evangelistic mission trip. Due to the situation in Kenya, we are not going to secure group tickets for the trip that we were hoping for in June. Be assured we are watching closely the updates coming out of Kenya. We will update you when we feel a change is justified. Currently, at the Miracle House office (volunteers around my dining room table) we are moving ahead with the preliminary preparation for a trip that we (more than any) hope will indeed happen! Mission Trip - Beautiful Feet Dec/Jan 08

The team is in the final stages of preparation and pre-prayeration!!

Dan and Garrett will fly out on Christmas day, arriving ahead of the team to prepare building material for the project in Webuye. The rest of the team will fly out on the 28th seven from Denver and 4 from Dallas. We meet in Chicago and then to London where we will see some sights on our long lay over - then on to Kenya. Arriving in Nairobi on Sunday morning, we hit the ground running with a full day of ministry!!

We appreciate your prayers - actually we depend on them!! You are a vital part of this team!! there will be updates through out the trip for focused prayer!!

December happenings

Wow ! God is continually amazing me!!

Early this month, I was in California for the Child Sponsorship Missions Fair at Calvary Community Church – Praise the Lord! Almost all our children were sponsored!! We have 2 or 3 children and some staff sponsorship cards remaining. Miracle House has a wonderful group of individuals working as liaisons for us at Calvary. It was my pleasure to get to know this team and meet many new sponsors.

Through a beautiful story I was able to meet a dear new friend, who that same weekend – handed me a $10,000 check for Miracle House!

One sponsor encounter was extra special to me – Stefani's family requested a child with some special needs – I suggested Margaret, as she had been diagnosed with HIV – the blessing for me was being able to pray with Stefani and her family for Stefani's healing from Leukemia! More on Margaret's story coming soon on the blog...

I also had opportunity to meet many wonderful people and re-acquaint with some special people from years ago.

In this week and a half we have had additional requests to sponsor kids and staff from Miracle House – Praise the Lord our Provider!!!

God continues to bring connections to us at Miracle House – this week it was thru a young old friend who is now well connected with World Relief!

We are thankful for the protection of our own Arienne as she was at New Life last Sunday. Continuing to pray for affected families and the entire church body!

Thankful for Cookie our new bookkeeper – a professional who is blessing us with her services! Blessing especially me - she likes to do that stuff!! Amazing! Isn't it wonderful that God created us differently?!

Our own Sam M has put an opportunity/challenge out to her co-worker broker/agents – to give toward MH property purchase for a new HOME for us to grow!!

A friendly reminder regarding end of the year giving – tax credit for 2007 Gifts mailed in must be postmarked by Dec. 31 On-line giving needs to be done by Dec. 28

There is a trip leaving for Kenya on the 28th and returning Jan. 12 (two actually fly out on Christmas Day). We appreciate your prayers – you blog friends will be getting frequent updates from Kenya!
