prayer update - March 28, 2010

Just a quick update to let you know our Limuru boy has been located, is with the guardian who now has a house in the area and has requested to keep the boy.

Regarding our Limuru girl please continue to pray... she is expected to have further testing on Monday (remember Kenya is 9 hours ahead of mt. time zone) We are praying and believing for a complete healing!! We have already seen incredible healing in this girl's brother.

Thanks for holding these up – they are precious in His sight!!

prayer needed - March 22, 2010

dear friends,

thanks for your prayers for

Limuru one of our youngest boys was taken by a guardian and has disappeared - so although he is with a guardian we do not feel it is a safe situation and for us... we have a child missing!!!

Webuye additionally one of our girls has been admitted to the hospital - cause of apparent "convulsion" is unknown - question about possible meningitis... may do a CT tomorrow?? PS was with her today, said "she isn't bad" possible she may be released tomorrow!

please continue to pray for "the way forward" on the property development!!!

I’m just sensing a need to raise the banner for the ministry in the next three days especially – 72 hours has been impressed upon me!

Goal for Our Kids!!

We have set a goal for our kids!!

We really want to have all the children sponsored before a team returns to Kenya in June!

What a blessing it will be to be able to tell the children they all have sponsors! and to have the freedom to bring in a few more where we have space.  There are so many in great need, it is heart breaking to have to say "no".

We appreciate your sponsorship consideration of a Miracle House child!  Each child has experienced tragedy and difficulties in life. Our vision is to “bring hope and healing to the hopeless and helpless,” and you will be bringing this vision to reality in the life of an African orphan!
 
Currently, the cost for a Miracle House day care child is $60 per month.  You can sponsor a child for $30 or $60 per month; if you choose $30, please understand another sponsor will also be placed with the same child for $30 per month to cover the remaining costs of provision. We encourage our sponsors to give as the Lord prompts!

Automatic withdrawal from checking/savings or credit card can be set up to occur on the tenth of each month.  Sending a check (monthly, quarterly, or annually) directly to Miracle House is also an option.

Pastor Sammy and family need our prayers!

Dear praying friends,

Please please, remember Pastor Sammy!!  As I’ve recently mentioned, his eye is in need of the healing touch of the Lord!!

This weekend I received a text message with brief info on the death of his sister Beatrice (Betty).  I know he was especially close to this sister!  I think she was the main caregiver for the three children who were orphaned a year and a half ago when another sister passed away due to meningitis, as well as her own daughter Annette.  I’ve sent inquiry for more info, but until then join me in praying for him and his family as they experience, process, and care for the details of the loss of this precious sister!

Betty is also, a dear sister to me!!  You can read a story that I share with her in the “let the stories be recorded” category of this blog!!  “Betty”

My sister Beatrice passed on last night, pray with me as i comprehent the fact that she is not with us, but also with the family at large, for Gods strength, and providence as we pay the bills and make arrangements for burial.

3/5/09 update

Thanks ALL for your prayers!

Jarelle is fine – dentist pulled the tooth in 2 pieces, it was actually a baby tooth that she would have lost eventually – yeah!!

I finally heard back from Pastor Sammy this morning – he is home and on some medication – sorry no details – thanks us for our prayers!!

Please continue to lift the need for more child sponsors!  Thank you for keeping us, and ultimately the children in your prayers!!

Priase and urgent request!

Good Morning Faithful Frevant Friends,

PRAISE!!

I got a text message at 5:00 a.m. from Pastor Sammy - Praising the Lord!!

He had gone to the attorney office today (Kenya is 9 hours ahead of us) and "picked" (picked up) the title and paperwork of the property purchase! (in exchange for the final fee payment for the attorney)

Praise the Lord - The property is ours and the title is actually in "our" hands, and copies in my email "in box"  :o)  Glory to God great things he has done!!!

PRAYER NEEDS!

Pastor Sammy was going directly to the hospital - "eye problem" is all it said...  Please join me in praying for him today!!  I'm waiting to hear more info...

Last night late Jarelle broke a moler (tooth) in half - blood and pain - taking her to the dentist this morning asap - also her bottom lip erupted in fever blister (never has happen to her before?? maybe nerves? can't identify an food that may have caused a reaction) She's being brave but hurting!

one more, Sam (Samantha, MH board and volunteer extrodinaire) is fighting sinus/head stuff attack!

Focus for the Fervant - 2/8/09

Thank you for your prayers for Miracle House!!  God is so clearly moving on our behalf – I can’t wait to tell you what all your prayers are releasing!!

I inquired about Violet – the text message response was simply “she is healed” (malaria) Glory to God!

Emily or head teacher in Limuru, was also sick with malaria, taken late at night to Pastor Sammy’s house for care.  Two days later she too is better!!
Glory to God!

This has been a wild week for me – I’ve been traveling, talking, which is what God said to do, talking to many people, connecting… not much computer time for updates!  So much is going on, God is bringing many new connections incredible people with heart to serve the Lord through MH!  And details are coming together in a very God sized way!  He is indeed the Way Maker!!

We are ready to book tickets for June 09 trip!  We have several overlapping visits and trips during the time I will be in Kenya! Including BFI and Calvary Community!

You have been praying over our property purchase papers as they move through the process in the government system in Kenya –
Well, earlier this week I got an email from the attorney office – I didn’t even get this request out to you – they said the papers had been finished, signed, stamped, sealed, and photocopied – only problem, after photo copy they were misplaced :o)  I wasn’t kidding about the mountains!
Praise the Lord only two days later they were found!  This week we will release the final payment to the owner through the attorney - Glory to God!  Miracle House will officially own the property!  
We have already begun the process for development.  We are scheduling a geological survey and a ministry called eMi is scheduling us in for a first visit either in May or September of this year!  Please continue to pray for us in this development process.  God is showing us the way step by step!!  Glory to God!  I know he has amazing plans, a hope and future for His/our precious children!!

We are praying and declaring - HIV, Malaria, TB, FREE ZONE over our houses!!

Focus for the Fervant - 1/23/09

Focus for the fervent –

2 requests directly form Kenya
    pray for Violet (one of our Webuye children) she has malaria
    pray for rain – gentle rains to bring needed moisture to the land!

We are continuing to pray complete healing for our children that have tested HIV+

We have received notification from our attorney in Nairobi that our papers are complete, needing only signature – this should mean we are within 1-2 weeks of receiving the title for the property!  Praise the Lord! 
Keep praying!  You are moving mountains!
 (yes, getting things done in government offices is mountain moving!!)

We are waiting for the title, the timing of receiving it will determine when eMi is able to schedule a team to come to our property and begin their work to master plan the best land use with our goals, dreams, and desires.

Please continue to lift the details of development of the land, God knows best the next steps!  We are seeking Him, and his perfect path!

Merry Christmas! Praise the Lord!!

A very Merry Christmas to all!!

We at Miracle House are so blessed by the Lord to have you standing with us in prayer!

We really do serve an amazing God!!!  A few weeks ago I received a phone call from a friend who I’d not seen in a year or more.  The opening comment was that she’d sold a piece of property, finally… and had received some income and wanted to send Miracle House a donation!  We spent several minutes catching up… kids, family, and as I was talking about Miracle House… first location, two years now, 25 children… built a building last January in the midst of a very turbulent post election situation… opened the second location in June, now 35 children… found property, 10 acres, God has provided so much, only $15,000 needed…  pause, a moment of silence on the phone line… then I heard, “that’s what I’m sending you”
What a moment, how amazing it must have been for her to hear me say the “need” amount that was exactly the amount she was planning to send… of course, I was crying… to realize the heart of God for these children!!! 
He speaks and His faithful obedient children respond.  Obviously, there have been many gifts received this year, monetary, time, resources, talents…  All gifts are a great blessing!

Praise the Lord!!  Glory to God!!
Yes, that means we have all the money needed to finalize the property purchase with no debt!  Looking forward to the development stage… will be doing some leg work on that next week in Kenya!

Miracle House heartbeat:  Motivated by the heart of God, meeting the needs of the people!  Often we think of this as we (Miracle House) being the givers, to the children.  We realize God is motivating the hearts of people to give so that, through Miracle House many can give to His precious children!

Please realize you don’t just make a difference, you make all the difference!!

Dec. 16, 2008 - Prayer and Praise!

Prayer and Praise update –

God continues to bless and amaze us!

We are praying for the final $15,000 needed for the property – praying too, for closing before the end of the year!!  The paperwork is moving in Kenya!  (We are set up to close on the property with a loan from a board member, if needed – Praying we won’t have debt!)  Believing for a Miracle!

The prayer focus was to ask the Lord what he wanted each one of us to Impart and Declare – for the children, staff, church family, and over the property!  He is revealing his heart and we are praying and preparing in many ways!  Praise the Lord! All funds needed for trip participants have been received. 

Take your letters to kids – we are asking both sponsors and everyone else to write a note to a child!  Please send before Christmas and we will hand deliver to the children!

We are thankful for child sponsors both through Calvary Community and directly through Miracle House (we have 60 more $30 a month child sponsorships available, great Christmas gift)!!  Blessings to all our donors/givers for general funds, property and development gifts, and those of you that support and sponsor travel team members.  Also blessings to our prayer support team, all hands-on support team, and a special thanks to Rachael, Arienne and Sam!

Continued prayers for me, and the travel team –– of course children and staff in Kenya!! Please also remember the “home team” our families and those that will keep you informed during our trip – departing Dec. 29 – returning Jan. 10 – Happy New Year!!

Greeting praying friends,

 

Today you get to pray specifically for two of our students - Peter and Jane!

Both are in class 8, equivalent to our 8th grade.  They are in the process now of taking exams they must pass in order to qualify to attend secondary school (high school).  Please pray they would perform to the best of their ability.  Please pray their hearts would be at peace and they would be reminded of their position as children of the KING!!  This is typically a stressful time for these students, Pray the peace and confidence of God all over them!!

We declare their successes for the glory of God!!

Praise the Lord!  We have received a $10,000 check, this brings our property need down to $15,000!  Thank you again to all who have given from your own resources - To Bring Hope And Healing, To The Hopeless And Helpless!!  Glory to God!!  The matatu is moving on the “Road to Nakuru”!! 10/31/08 - focus for the fervant

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your continued faithfulness in prayer!

*property - there have been some minor glitches and the learning curve continues to take new corners - pray for the final process for the paperwork!  now hoping to close before we get there the end of Dec.

*trip - 6 people are preparing for a trip to kenya Dec. 29-Jan.10 - send an email if you are interesed in receiving a prayer list specific to the trip - email me at deanna@miracle-house.org and put "adopt us" in the subject  :o)

*future planning - we are already working on the preliminary step for development of the property - please pray us through this process as well!!  many decisions to make!

*suport team development - Praise the Lord for the growth of Miracle House!  Please join me in praying for the steps to deligate responsibilities and the qualified people to fill the roles!!  People that don't need money :o) or can raise their own support!!!

property progress ~ Sept. 30, 2008

Wow!  I better catch up here!!  Thanks for your prayers!

We have signed and returned the contract to Kenya.  The final work is being done with the paperwork.  It should be complete in about a week and Miracle House will be thrilled and thankful to own 10 acres of land in Kenya!
Many of you have asked about the finances ~ we are still in need of about $25,000.  Soooo keep praying!  We have had several people feel called to talk to others, their friends, and several have responded!  Praise the Lord!!

September 2 - fuel for the fervant

Dear Praying Friends,

Thank you for your prayers!  It is such an encouragement to me to have some of you actually check in with me, asking for updates, saying I’ve been checking the blog…

So, to catch you up –

The week in Texas was Bittersweet – hard to leave Landon, yet no other place I rather leave him for the next 2 years than Center for Creative Media at Teen Mania!
The other emotion of that week was Thankfulness, it was wonderful to connect with such special BFI friends!  We love you!!

The week in California was great – the World Vision AIDS Experience~ Step into Africa, is very well done I encourage all of you check their website and GO if it is anywhere near you! 
Our praises from the week!
*one and a half children sponsored – one and a half more in the process
*Ministry opportunities – huge blessing to me personally!
*Some great connections to those God is drawing to be involved!!
*Four people praying considering traveling to Kenya this January – Please be praying with/for these, as they all desire to hear a clear word!
*Two young women are praying and dialoging with me about how they can be involved as volunteers for MH in CA
*I also want to give praise to the Lord for the blessing of family, extremely supportive family! I’m blessed to be able to squeeze in visits with them too!


New news –
There is a new group of saints that are connecting to us – a Sunday School class that is praying and giving together toward the property purchase – here is a prayer request that I shared with them yesterday!

The very first thing I’d like to do is ask the ISI saints to “pray in” this property purchase!!  This is a complicated and confusing process.  We have learned much and made much headway.  But, we are having difficulty with getting verbal agreement into written contract form that we are comfortable with! To be specific, there is some leasehold verbiage that keeps finding its way back into the contract when the title states fee simple/freehold.  Thankfully, Samantha is a realtor here and understands the jargon. The other fine line is the delineation of fees and responsibility for them.  Finally the last is clarifying the attorney input and responsibility.  Thank you for lifting these items to the Lord for us!  He is the Way Maker – we are seeking His way in this wilderness.

I’d like to throw out the hook once again –
We have some children that we would like to sponsor directly through Miracle House.  This is a new adventure for us.  We are looking for some of you to walk this road with us as we “work the bugs out” of developing a “in house” sponsorship program.  We have beautiful children that need sponsors :o)  email me and I’ll forward you a brand new, hot off the press, sponsorship form!!

Final note – this weekend we will be having our annual Miracle House Board meeting – please be in prayer as these people, incredible blessings in my life, come together around the board room table (yes, still my dining room table) on behalf of the organization, but most importantly on behalf of His/Our precious children!!

Your work is not in vain – your prayers support and uphold me and Miracle House!!  Thank you for your faithfulness before the throne of our Faithful God!!  He is moving on our behalf, for the hope and healing of the children!

timely prayers

I'm in California!! Calvary Community Church has most of our child sponsorships,  they are hosting the World Vision AIDS Experience.  We have been invited to have a table in the "market place" and have our children available for sponsorship!  We can also share our need for some additional funds for the property purchase!

Please keep this opportunity lifted up before the Lord with us!!

Clear communication of Miracle House goals, dreams, and vision!  Connectedness to those who God is drawing to be involved!!

 

Speaking of property...  we received an ammended contract today (as we [Sam and I] traveled) Please, Please pray for discernment and wisdom as we sift through the final elements of this process.  Consider, international communication, a pastor, 3 attorneys, realtor, and owner - mixed with a visionary founder and a no nonsense US realtor/board member.  Praise the Lord!!

 

Please also pray for our children and staff -

a specific request for today - a man that Pastor Sammy had the opportunity to minister to... new life in Christ, free from alcohol

Pastor Sammy is working diligently on behalf of Miracle House in the negotiations.  Praying for agreement on the contract, details to come together and peace as we more toward closing!

Please continue to pray for the remaining $30,000 for the property purchase!  the first week after we shared the need was so encouraging. It made going to the  post office a joy.  I must be honest and say the last week or two has slowed greatly.  We know God is the provider, pray for those he  is calling  to join  Him/us to provide for these precious children!!

Finally, there is much travel in my next few weeks - family, connections, endurance, safety, etc.

July 30 prayer update - timely info !!

*Pastor Sammy's meeting last weekend was postponed due to an emergency of the owner/seller

*Pastor Sammy will be meeting with the owner on Thursday (that's Wednesday night in the US~9 hours ahead of Mt. currently) We are looking of agreement to terms of the contract we submitted - then we bring the last $$ to the closing and the land is ours!!

*God's is speaking and people are responding - checks are making it to our post office box - Glory to God!!  Coming soon to our website home page -> Follow our progress on "The Road to Nakuru"!!

*Praise the Lord!!  PS's note said, "James is now well"  to God be the Glory!!!

*No update on Limuru - PS has been in the west - please continue to pray for George, Florence, and Stephen as well as the chickenpox situation in the slum!

 

Be blessed for you are a blessing!!  you are making a difference in the loves of these precious children!!
